About Patty Cannon, MA, LMHC
I have been a therapist for over 30 years, working in agencies, schools and private practice. My master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and Art Therapy is from Antioch University, Seattle, and I also have a teaching credential in Elementary Education and Secondary English from UC Berkeley.
I’m a mother of a young woman, and the stepmother of an adult son. I’ve studied mental health counseling from a variety of perspectives. I combine a pragmatic, problem solving approach with the understanding that some problems are not easily solved. The human unconscious has power, and we deeply seek connection with others and their ideas. Sometimes these two factors team up and cause the kind of problems that bring people to therapy.
